Medical Suffixes Flashcards
Suffixes are the second half of how medical terms are built, attaching to a root word to indicate a condition, procedure, or specialty, such as "-itis" for inflammation or "-ectomy" for surgical removal. Learning the common ones makes it possible to decode unfamiliar medical terms on sight.
This deck covers the suffixes students encounter most often across anatomy, pathology, and clinical terminology. Each card includes a clinical note showing the suffix in a real medical term, pairing well with the Medical Prefixes deck for full term-breakdown practice.
